Allen Bell, his son, a boy scout (DJ), and my self are going to Jacks River Falls! We are leaving around 5 a.m. on Friday. I’m going to have lunch with my good buddy Lance and then go to the trail. I’m really looking foward to it. Bellow is a map showing where we will be at. The trail is 16 miles that we will do in about 2 days (part of Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday).
They do have one Geocache on the trail we are doing. It’s a photo cache so you take a picture and send that in. The area around it does not allow traditional caches so that’s why they did one this way.
Check out Live Action to see some of the abuse that is being covered-up by the abortion machine. It’s sad that people who claim to be helping women would cover-up statutory rape. But we all know it’s all about the money. If they reported the rape then other girls in that situation would not go there and they would louse out.
Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.
Persecution. It goes with being a Christian. To be honest I have always hated it when American Christians complain about persecution. You know, we get all upset because people call us names. All over the world Christians are dying because of their faith in Jesus. So I just think that we need to get over it.
Please pray for our Christians brothers and sisters who are being persecuted. Hebrews 13:3 tells us to “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”
So my sister Stinky is pregnant. Please pray for her and the child. I know that she has lost several already and it’s hard for her. I think she said she is at 8 weeks and that is farther then she has gotten before. But please pray that the baby will continue to grow strong.
I know that we should not judge people too quickly.. But most of the time we do. Last week I was upset with my church and Pastor Don. The back story behind what was going on is that I have seen several people around church with the book “The Shack”. I knew that the book has a lot of problems and yet I did not hear anything about it from the church. And the people that I talked too who read it was surprised that I thought it had problems other than how it presented the Trinity. So I sent Pastor Don a e-mail saying…
So a little over a weeks goes by and I don’t hear back from Pastor Don so I send him a follow-up e-mail that has the above and at top I put…
I did not hear back from you on this so I don’t know if you got it or not.. I also heard that a group from church is using this book for a study, I hope this is so that they will know all the problems with it and be better able to defend the truth.
Roger
So another week goes by and I still don’t hear anything from him. And on top of that the Sunday Bulletin has a little blurb in it that says
Have you read, reading or would like to read the #1 NY Times Bestseller book The Shack by Whilam P. Young? Join our roundtable discussions on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00p. You are also invited to stay for dinner after the discussion.
It has a nice little picture of the book right next to it. For the life of me I can not tell what’s going on. So I goto pastor Don to ask him about it. To be honest I do go about asking him wrongly (Sunday before church and I was sorta upset about the whole thing), and the impression that I get from Don is one of defending the book. At this point I am just really confused (which is when I wrote my post about it). Then on Wednesday I get a letter (in the mail) from Pastor Don saying basically “I appreciate you, but don’t confront me on Sunday mornings seek other times” and now I am even more confused. What? I sent you two e-mails and gave you three weeks to reply, what more do you need???
Last week was General Assembly for the EPC church so Don was at that Wednesday night. But I do get to talk to my boss Alan (who is also a elder in the church and a good friend of Don) about it. Tell him everything that has happened. He agrees with me and says that “If Don did get your e-mails the letter is just plain weird” (When we talked about it on Sunday morning, Don did say that “I have heard the interviews” and I took that to mean from the e-mails that I sent him, so I thought he did get the e-mails). So this past Sunday was a session meeting and Alan talked to Don about all of it. Alan understood my concern and knew that I was confused.
I have not talked to Alan about it yet (and he’s out on vacation all this week). But Pastor Don did call me yesterday. Firstly he apologized, and said that he did not get my e-mails. At that point in time he was going through all his old ones looking for them. He said what I did made since in light of the fact that I thought he was ignoring me.
Don agreed that ‘The Shack’ does have major problems and that we need to address them. He now knows why my concern with the book and what I saw as a lack of action by the church drove me to bring it up on Sunday morning. He did agree that for a person out side of the class that the message given by the church could be misunderstood and that the church did need to address it a little better.
So with all that said, the ‘Don’t Judge Too Quickly” title sorta seemed to fit. I judged Don’s actions too quickly and he judged mine. But thankfully we have worked out all the wrinkles and can now move forward.
