Updates

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

So Nyssa is watching another baby for now.  One of our friends got in a bind and asked if we could watch Autumn until they find a more permanent solution.  She’s 8 months old and is a rather quit baby.  So please pray for us that 1) a good solution will be found and 2) Nyssa will not go crazy with two little ones around.

Also my friend Ronny’s mother went into the hospital this past week.  I spent a lot of time with them growing up and they are like family.  They think she might have had a mild hart attack but either way her blood was really thick so they put her on a blood thinner.  I need to call Ronny today to get a update, but please pray for her health.  Her name is Kathy.

As for Marci she’s going at 100+ MPH.  Let’s hope she does not have any accidents as bad as this guy…

Okay, yeah, I was just looking for a way to put that video into a post.  But hey I’m going with it.  She is almost at the walking by her self stage.  She likes to hold on to one finger as we walk her around but she will take two or three steps after letting go of us to get to what she wants.  I would put a picture of her up (because I’m a daddy and that’s what daddy’s do) but photobucket is down right now.  Oh, Nyssa put Marci in a 18 month outfit today.  So my 11 month old is fitting in 18 month old’s clothing…

Adopted 4Ever

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

So Ligonier Ministries and Embraced by Grace are having a conference called “Adopted 4Ever” and Nyssa and my self are thinking we would like to go to it.  Not sure yet, but the first thing that we would need is a pair of grand parents who would want to watch Marci for November 5th &  6th (and part of the 7th too)…

I do think it might be good for us to just get away for a weekend and we have been looking into adopting a child.  So I think we could learn a lot form this conference.

So I’m Rubbing Off On Nyssa

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

So I guess I’m rubbing off on Nyssa. I caught her reading Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. It made me laugh. Anyways, I know I posted this video before but now is a good time to repost it

On a side note she has not made me burn our NIV Study Bible… Yet   :)

MarMar Walking

For all your Marci needs.  MarMar walking!*  She’s growing up so quickly.  Or maybe I’m just getting old too fast…  I’m not sure.  Anyways, enjoy

Happy Birthday Nyssa

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Today is my wife’s birthday.  Happy birthday Nyssa.

We had our families over today for dinner.  I cooked ribs.  It was yummy.

Also just some misc stuff.  Matthew Smith has a new CD out called ‘Watch The Rising Day’ It’s a great CD and you should check it out.  I think the best songs on it are #8 “The War” and #9 “Goodnight” (click the links to listen and read the lyrics on-line).  They are both old hymns that he updated words and music to.  The War is about sanctification and just how hard it is.  In it he says “for me it has been sore and long” we are a work in progress.  It’s not easy (has not been for me anyways).

Goodnight is an amazing song.   It’s a song about dying.  The singer is on his death bed looking to Jesus and he is saying “Goodnight” to his loved ones.  It’s a song about the promise that death is not the end and all who have put their faith in Jesus will see each other again.

And John Piper has a great video out on “Are Christians under the 10 commandments?”  I love John Piper, but the still picture they have for this video kinda looks like he’s giving lessons on how to kiss your wife  :)   It’s just kinda hard for me to look at this and not laugh.  But that aside, the message is great.
