Next Camping Trip

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

I’m thinking my next camping trip needs to be to Dry Tortugas National Park.  Who’s with me!

But before I go I need to finish my scuba diving stuff..  That would be great!

Scuba diving with PADI eLearning 4

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

I feel bad that it has taken me most of a year to finish this class that I should have done in a week..  But I am done now  :)  Just wanted to say that I really liked the PADI system this far.  I still have all the actual field work to do.  My friends Debbie and Bo do that.  I was going to do it today and tomorrow but that did not work with my schedule  :(  But hopefully the next one will work out and then I will be a certified scuba diver!

On a side note, Nyssa has to wait untill after Peanut comes out of her belly before she can do any scuba type of stuff.  So she will not be done for a while still.

Problems with IE

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Internet Explorer is putting scroll bars on my site for some reason.  I’m sorry about this for all the IE users that are reading this (Nyssa).  I use Crome and it’s working fine so that why I did not see it before.

On a side note, this is why I’m not going to let my kids have phones that can take photos.  I’m also not going to let them have a web cam..  It’s a sad story about a high school girl who sends a nude photo of her self to her boy friend (of 1 to 2 months) and he send it to other people and before long the whole school (and 3 other schools) all have the photo..  Anyways, they say that 1 in 5 high school girls have posted nude/partial nude photos of them self on the internet and they guess that about 50% of students have  nude/partial nude photos on their cell phones..

On a side side note, do you ever wonder why people spend so much time on the phone??  Really whats up with that?  At least 4 out of 5 cars that I pass the driver is on the phone.  Do you really need to talk that much?  Dr. Jack Sharp in the last sermon said that people are trying to stop thinking.  He was talking about TV and sports and such, but I think talking on the phone works to.  When we think we have to wrestle with lifes tuff questions.  And thats not easy.

On a side side side (?) note, I think we are going to do another Rainbow River trip.  Need to invite all our firnds and stuff but looking at next month some time.  We will not do the tubing thing but will just go to the head water park again.  Have a cook out…  Hey we could bake a pie and bring it too!  Mmmm, home made pie…

Scuba diving with PADI eLearning 3

Monday, December 1st, 2008

I know I’m going really slow with the PADI corse.  But thats ok, Nyssa finished her’s yesterday and I just have the last test to do.  So my goal is to do that tonight.  It will be fun go out, so I’m looking foward to it.  The online sections were a little to long and I always started going ADD on them.  Thats why it took me so long to do 6 of them.  I think if it was broken up more it would have been easer for me anyways.

Scuba diving with PADI eLearning 2

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

So I am about half way through with the on-line part (Nyssa is ahead of me).  And just wanted to give an update about it.  It is a lot longer then I thought it would be.  Thats for sure.  I am learning quit a bit about scuba equipment and what it’s all called and how to take care of it; so thats cool.  Nyssa and my self are looking foward to getting to do our first dive.  Should be a great time.

PADI eLearning is not the most exciting thing I have ever done (the lessons are a little to long so I have been breaking them up into smaller bite sized lessons) but I do think it’s better then doing class work for the whole thing.
